About LCMF

July 6 - 20, 2020

Injuries, pain, frustration, stress, and self-doubt are the norm of the music profession. With practicing or performing nearly every day in extremely competitive environments, it comes as no surprise that most musicians succumb to some unhealthy habits. Studies show that up to 80% of music students and professional musicians have suffered from a playing-related injury, and rates of depression and anxiety are significantly higher in musicians compared to other professions. Yet musicians are seldom given the opportunity to learn about topics such as how to condition the body, injury prevention, self confidence, stress management, and performance anxiety.

Based in Walla Walla, WA, the Lotus Chamber Music Festival provides a unique educational experience for accomplished young artists by combining a summer music festival with a holistic wellness retreat. This two-week getaway helps students create a union of mind, body, spirit, and music-making in a nurturing, supportive environment. In addition to musician’s wellness classes, private lessons, chamber coachings, masterclasses, and performance opportunities, students will have ample free time to practice, journal, and explore the quaint downtown Walla Walla.
