Kelly Klomparens is currently an internal audit staff at the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in Arlington, Virginia. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who began her career at KPMG in the Federal audit practice, assisting in the performance of Federal and commercial financial statement audits. Outside of the office, she is the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee for her Condo Association and serves as the Membership Chair and Vice President of the DC Chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance. She is also a member of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs and Institute of Internal Auditors.
Kelly grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland and began playing oboe at the age of 10 after her intrigue with the double reed. She attended the University of Maryland, College Park and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Oboe Performance as a student of Mark Hill of the National Philharmonic. Additional past instructors include Jane Marvine of the Baltimore Symphony, Cynthia DeAlmeida of the Pittsburgh Symphony, and Barbara Girdler, her principal teacher. Kelly enjoys playing around the DC area with local volunteer orchestras to include the DC Strings Workshop and Unstrung.
